Hope this is not a thread hijack but why is a Mercury frame more than twice the price of, say the Audax? Excuse my ignorance but is it due to more than the cost of the steel employed?

- Most of the extra cost is the Reynolds 853 Tubing.
- The cost of the stainless fittings is also higher (Custom cast dropouts, cable guides and eccentric shell and insert).
- The Mercury is manufactured and sold in much lower volumes.

Hope this helps, i'm always happy to answer (sensible) questions  ;)

No problem missed that one, sadly the frame doesn't conform to EN15194 EPAC/Pedlec /2017 so no it wont.

(that said It would be good to see a disc option on the Raven).

I can dream, but not sure the wife would appreciate another bike

sounds like a great new frame,

if i read it right i can have winter bike with disk brakes and use a 48x36 crankset an 18t sprocket and an alfine tensioner, to get around 15" to 103" gear range with a rohloff hub (i know the purists won't approve, but i need a wider gear range than a vanilla rohloff will supply, a patterson crankset sounds better but they are scarce and pricey this side of the pond)
and if I tour i can swap it over to 9 speed 11-34 and 48,36,22 crankset? until i am confident in the rohloff's reliability?

I'd get to try a rohloff and if i don't like it i'd still have an Audax
