A friend of mine bought one of these.  This web page says something about bluetooth connectivity as an anti-theft device.  Not sure how that works, but I do not plan to research it as I rarely have anything with bluetooth connectivity turned on.

Until the battery runs out & or the Herbert that pinched the bike take the light off & chucks it.  ;)
