Bike GPS
« on: September 28, 2016, 12:07:41 pm »
Hi Folks

I have a few GPS units already, but I started to think that it would be good to feed a GPS signal via Bluetooth to an iPad mini.  I don't have a smart phone and no wish to to get one.  I have found an app for the iPad called BikeMap, which seems to allow connection of Bluetooth devices.  It is important that the GPS is streaming live data, probably NMEA, to the Bluetooth, rather than just storing it until the ride is finished and the data saved.  The only GPS I have that has Bluetooth is a rather chunky thing designed for a motorbike, and sadly I no longer have a bike mount.

What I would like to know is if anyone on here is using this sort of system.

I used to do the same thing, but with a cable, between a Psion 5 and a Garmin 2, but this was about 20 years ago!

Thanks

Andy
