Curious about the Gebla Rohbox
« on: January 10, 2016, 08:24:19 pm »
Who has tried it or will volunteer to do so!

My winter bike is a Santos with drop bars and a Rohloff. Originally I had the Rohloff shifter on the end of the drop bars, that is a bit sketchy cornering in a group on a bad surface. The Gilles Berthoud on the Thorn drop bar is better. I see Santos now provide the Gebla as standard on their Race and Cross Lite bikes.

A bonus of the Rohbox would be greater choice of bars, stems, and all the things that attach to standard bars.

I have been doing a bit of reading and emailing, and am now better informed. The Rohbox can only work with the Rohloff with an external gearbox, but there is a Rohloff kit to convert internal to external. You then use one brake-shifter for up, and the other for down.
