Alt coast to coast
« on: April 02, 2007, 06:12:53 pm »
Thought I'd share some pics of the bike on last weekend's trip from Lancaster to Scarborough via Tan Hill, the N York Moors and Whitby.  Tan Hill was a challenge being the highest pub in the UK.  I mixed up some light offroading with back roads and used a big chunk of Sustrans walney to Whitby ride.  Despite poor weather it was great fun and the RT was brilliant.

Great pictures. Its nice to see a lone rider (like myself) out in the mists.

Yes, but a pain the weather broke!  I'll definitely do that route again in summer.  Managed some major hills and made full use of gears 1-14!

Great photos, looks like a good ride in any weather.
I'm hoping to get to the North York Moors and Whitby after the York Rally and your photos are inspiring. I'll have to Google Tan Hill and see if I can include it.

Tan Hill Inn is an experience!  I was greeted by 2 cats, a dog, 3 lambs and chickens in the bar!  Very friendly to the point of self service real ales and an honesty policy most of the night.  I had a decent room, a good steak and huge breakfast. They also have camping and a bunk barn.
