perfect (almost)

I've changed the Thorn comfort bars for Soma Sparrows and the bike is now almost perfect.  I miss not having the Rohloff but that's the price I have to pay for a crank-drive motor.  I'll consider a 8-speed Alfine over the winter.  But for the moment it 's fine and is just so comfortable.

How wonderful! All congratulations, Ian, on getting a bike so nicely suited to your needs. It looks good, you're mobile -- what could be better?

Please, could you favor us with a few more photos?

All the best,

Dan.

Thanks Dan

My wife and I did a tour of the Ypres Salient in August; here's a few more photos.

The motor.

The bike leaning against a tree in Flanders (with the old Thorn comfort bars).

And finally, what I was photographing.

A proper gentleman's bicycle, and romantic too, especially in that photograph against the rails in your first post, at dusk presumably.

Andre
I rather like the idea of a 'proper gentleman's bike' - I shall do my best to live up to it.
