Title: Sad news about Sheldon Brown
Post by: ahconway on February 04, 2008, 10:42:29 pm
I'm sorry to report that Sheldon Brown died last night (Feb 3, 2008) from a massive heart attack.

As many on this board will know, he has long been considered the expert on many cycling topics. See www.sheldonbrown.com for a sampling of his expertise. He's been a regular contributor to many cycling lists, and always took time to share his wisdom with others.

I was fortunate to have had a chance meeting with him north of Boston last year, and he was equally engaging, entertaining, generous, and learned as I'd expected him to be.

A great loss for Boston and the cycling community worldwide.

Yes it is.  I used his website a lot.  A great fan of Thorn and Rolhoff.   As well as a font of knowledge about all things bicycle, he was a very funny man - for example, his titanium credit card and universal torque wrench.

One of a kind I think.
