Title: S+S coupler box
Post by: capnahab on July 12, 2020, 06:29:48 pm
I have a fairly straightforward custom built road bike With S+S couplers and a chain driven rohloff hub, - sliding dropouts. Does anyone have similar and experience getting it into a S+S box ?, ie will it fit? . Before I spend £500, - but that may be the only way to find out. On the SJS site there is a warning about guards and racks. I am specifically wondering about the rear axle width.

I hear that the tightest dimension is the length of the steering tube. But I don't have first hand experience!

I've only ever watched one being put into a case, the case didn't look very complex, though the packing method did.  Are they specific cases?  If so the dimensions must be known and I wouldn't have though it hard to make a mock up out of cardboard and gaffa tape.
