Title: Nomad X
Post by: ruds23 on May 02, 2018, 11:29:22 pm
Hi there. I have the opportunity to buy a lightly used Nomad X frame. I am struggling to find information on the difference between the X and the standard Nomad. Is anyone able to help? FYI I am looking for an adventure touring bike that is nippy enough to be used on the road for commuting etc unloaded. I won't be carrying big loads while touring, so I think the standard Nomad may be overkill.

Incidentally, does anyone know if you can run 650b wheels on a Nomad X and if so, what is the max tire width?

Thanks for the help!

<shakes hgead> Dunno. I would place a call to or email SJS Cycles in query to confirm.

I do know both my 2011 Sherpa Mk2 and my 2012 Nomad Mk2 had enough reach in the Deore v-brake slots for the pads to reach a 650B wheel, helped by Thorn placing the v-brake mounts on my bikes so the pads were near the bottom of their adjustment slots.
