If you get these and use on ice, you might find there is a lot of rolling resistance.  I have the Marathon Winters and use them in the winter on my Nomad.  If the conditions are poor (some snow on top of the ice), I like to drop the pressure a bit for better grip on the snow.  But if it is nearly snow free with patches of smooth ice, then higher pressure works pretty well.

The instructions say to avoid hard use (hard braking, sharp turns) when you first install them for your first couple of rides to set the studs better.  I did that and have not lost any studs.
