Title: Schwalbe Marathon Plus Tour Tyres
Post by: energyman on April 10, 2017, 10:05:28 pm
Just fitted these to my RST. Had to permanently remove the mudguards to get them on.  It's like riding on cobbles when on a smooth road but excellent on field paths and non sealed cycle paths.
Also look dead cool !

I have the same tyres fitted to my Sherpa. It never feels like I am cycling on cobbles when on smooth roads though. But I agree they are excellent on field paths and non sealed cycle paths. Plus I have not had a puncture over the year that I have been using them. Wish I could have said the same about the Duremes they replaced. I got a puncture every other week when I was riding with them on the bike.

Me too that's why the mudguards had to come off - not enough clearance.
(Same with the Marathon Plus 1.75 tyres before)
That's why I've had the 1.5 tyres for the past few years.
Originally had the Thorn's recommended Pasala tyres.  Made a lot of friends whilst mending road side punctures with those !

The Plus Tour are what I have on my Nomad, 47mm width. They fit fine under the 55 mm SKS Chromoplastic fenders.
